Armodafinil, the main ingredient in Waklert 150, primarily impacts the brain’s wakefulness and alertness systems. It stimulates the central nervous system without producing the strong spike that is characteristic of conventional stimulants by increasing the release of dopamine, norepinephrine, and histamine. This helps people stay awake during the day by improving concentration, attention, and cognitive performance. It is particularly helpful for narcolepsy since it also slightly affects orexin (hypocretin) neurons, which control sleep-wake cycles. Unlike amphetamines, Waklert 150 normally generates alertness without jitteriness, with a lesser risk of addiction, yet adverse effects, including headache, anxiety, or sleeplessness can still occur.
