Some days are just bad. Like really, really bad.
You wake up late. Your coffee spills. Everything feels wrong and it’s only 9am. You know those days? Yeah. I had one of those recently.
And then tacos and burritos saved me. I’m not even joking.
It Started as a Terrible Day
Nothing was going right. I was tired, stressed, and honestly a little grumpy. I didn’t want to talk to anyone. I just wanted the day to be over.
By lunchtime I was running on empty. No energy. No motivation. Just sitting there staring at the wall.
Then my friend said — “let’s just go get tacos and burritos.”
I almost said no. But I didn’t. And that changed everything.
That First Bite Though
We sat down. The food came. I picked up the taco first.
Warm tortilla. Juicy grilled chicken. Fresh salsa. A little squeeze of lime.
I took one bite and I swear — I felt better immediately. Not in a dramatic way. Just… calmer. Like my whole body finally relaxed.
Then came the burrito. Stuffed with rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream and tender pulled beef. Every single bite was so good that I completely forgot about my bad morning.
That’s the power of really good food.
Why Tacos and Burritos Hit Different When You’re Having a Bad Day
I think it’s because they’re warm and filling. There’s something really comforting about food that’s made with fresh ingredients and actual flavor.
Also — tacos and burritos are fun to eat. You’re building flavors with every bite. There’s something to look forward to in each mouthful. It keeps you present. It makes you slow down.
And when you slow down — even just for 20 minutes — a bad day starts to feel a little more manageable.
Food Really Does Fix Things (Sometimes)
I know people say “food won’t solve your problems.” And yeah, that’s technically true.
But a good meal can reset your mood. It can give you energy when you have none. It can make you feel taken care of — even if you’re the one taking care of yourself.
Tacos and burritos did that for me that day. They didn’t fix my problems but they gave me enough good energy to get through the rest of the day with a smile.
Final Thoughts
Next time you’re having a rough day — don’t overthink it. Just go get tacos and burritos.
Sit down. Eat slowly. Enjoy every bite.
I promise you’ll feel at least a little better. And sometimes a little better is all you need to keep going.
