The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court has ordered a father and his son to pay Dh5,000 to a woman they assaulted, in addition to covering related charges, expenses, and legal fees.
The woman had filed a lawsuit claiming the two men had beaten her. Following a criminal investigation, the defendants were convicted, and she sought Dh51,000 in compensation.
The case was referred to criminal trial after she lodged a complaint with the authorities. The Abu Dhabi Family Prosecution confirmed the assault in its ruling.
The court stated: “It was established in the criminal rulings that the father and his son assaulted the woman. A Dh5,000 compensation for all the moral and psychological harm suffered by the plaintiff is deemed sufficient.”
